LinkedIn API disclosure

What MakD.in requests from LinkedIn, why, and how to revoke it.

Last updated: 4 October 2026

MakD.in uses the LinkedIn API only to publish content a business owner has approved and to report on that content’s performance. Our use of LinkedIn data complies with the LinkedIn API Terms of Use and the LinkedIn Privacy Policy. This page is the detailed disclosure referred to in our privacy policy.

w_member_socialPublish the posts you approve to your own LinkedIn profile.
r_organization_social, w_organization_socialOptional, only after LinkedIn grants Community Management access: publish to Company Pages you administer and read the reach and engagement of posts we published.

Use case submitted to LinkedIn

Use-case statement
MakD.in is a marketing automation tool for small businesses. A business owner connects their LinkedIn profile or Company Page, approves AI-drafted posts (text and image) in our calendar, and we publish each approved post at its scheduled time through the official LinkedIn API. For Company Pages we also read the impressions, clicks and engagement of the posts we published, to show the owner a simple performance report. We never post without the owner's approval unless they explicitly enable autopilot for their own account, never read other members' data, never scrape, and never send messages or connection requests. Access tokens are encrypted and deleted when the account is disconnected.
